I've been doing this since 1989....I put this on Fred Wilson's blog months back.....my biggest sadness is that firms like Alex Brown were consolidated and destroyed.....as an East guy their tech conference was the best (I haven't done a bunch with Montgomery Scott (I know that's the old name) but they were definite rivals and I'm sure like all things competition brought out the best in both so I won't argue who was best).....now you are quaint if you are less than $5B.....nobody cares if you are less than $1B. I remember Scott Cook presenting for Quicken when he was less than a Billion....around $100M....same for Aspen Technologies, WonderWare and so many others....I just wanted to hit $20M in sales so I was "real". Now that seems quaint.

re: selling a company - also 5-7% but lower on very large deals
re: "question of the week" - yes, I've been thinking about how to get viewers more involved. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll implement something soon.

Mark, you mentioned that investment banks charge success fee in the range of 5%-7% when they help companies raise money. How much do they charge when they help in the sale of a company?

On another note, I wanted to suggest that you should have segment "question of the week" on twivc where you can select one of the best questions submitted by users and answer it. What do you think?
